06 Jan Water Supplies Update From Clare County Council

Share

The supply situation is improving and is near normal in most parts of County Clare.  However, the Council still appeals to the public to conserve water use.  The Councils leak detection and repair crews continue to work constantly (assisted by Contractors) throughout the County.

In order to conserve the supply the Council is taking the following actions.

Water will be cut off at the following locations and at the time specified:
-    Shannon, Newmarket on Fergus. Sixmilebridge, from 8.00pm to 7.00am
-    Clonlara, Coolisteigue, Shannon Banks, Westbury, Parteen, Ardnacrusha, from 8.00pm to 8.00am
-    Corofin, Ruan from 8.00pm to 8.00am.

Tankers will supply water to the following locations at the time specified:

Lahinch        The Promenade, Lahinch        2.00pm to 4.00pm
Ennistymon        at County Council offices        2.00pm to 4.00pm
Quin            Quin Village                10.00am to 12.00 noon
Crusheen        Village Centre                4.00pm to 6.00pm

The Council’s Emergency number (should only be used to report major bursts and leaks in public areas) is 087-4169496 which operates from 5.00pm each evening to 9.30am the next morning. This number is to facilitate emergencies only such as leaks in the public areas. From 9.30am to 5.00pm please contact the Council’s main office number at 065-6821616.

The Council appreciates the patience of the public in dealing with these shut offs.  Consumers can expect a delay in resumption of supply after water is restored at the time indicated while the mains are recharging for several hours.
