President’s Visit to County Limerick on 26th April, 2012
The Cathaoirleach and Members of Limerick County Council will host a Civic Reception to honour the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, in recognition of his inauguration as the ninth President of Ireland. The Civic Reception will take place in County Hall, Dooradoyle, on Thursday 26th April, 2012 at 1.45pm sharp. President Higgins also will be visiting St. Gabriel’s School & Centre in Dooradoyle and Rathfredagh Cheshire Home in Newcastle West (see below itinerary).
Once the official proceedings commence at each location, no access will be permitted In accordance with Protocol Procedures received from the President’s Office.
Media outlets interested in attending the three events are asked to forward the name, position held and contact number of the attending representative (s) to media@dunphypr.com. Media accreditation is solely reserved for those working within the media. The deadline for accreditation is Tuesday, 24 April 2012 at 5:00 PM. Accreditation cannot be facilitated after this date.
OUTLINE ITINERARY
11.45 AM: President Higgins visits St. Gabriel’s School & Centre, Dooradoyle, Limerick.
12:45 PM: President Higgins departs St. Gabriel’s School & Centre, Dooradoyle, Limerick.
1:45 PM: President Higgins arrives at Limerick County Hall in Dooradoyle where he is greeted by Councillor M. Harty, Cathaoirleach of Limerick County Council and Mr. Gerard Behan, County Manager. President Higgins participates in a tree planting ceremony at the entrance to County Hall.
2:05 PM: The President is brought into the Council Chamber.
3:20 PM: President Higgins departs Limerick County Council.
4:00 PM: President arrives to Rathfredagh Cheshire Home. Will be greeted by Kathleen Vickers (Regional Manager, Southern Area, Cheshire Ireland) and Denise Leonard (Service Manager, Rathfredagh)
4.45 PM: President leaves Rathfredagh Cheshire Home
