North Kerry To West Limerick Walking And Cycling Route To Be Upgraded

Monday, 15 December 2008 - West Limerick is destined for a tourism boost in 2009 following the news that major development and upgrading works are to take place on a walking and cycling route along the former Limerick to Kerry railway line.

Award for Shannon Recycling Centre

An Award was presented to Shannon Recycling Centre at the 2008 Repak Annual National Award Ceremony, which took place recently in Dublin.

The Shannon Recycling Centre was one of three finalists in the “Best Civic Amenity Site” category.  The objective of the Repak AwardS is to promote and encourage good recycling practice amongst industry, local authorities, waste contractors and youth.  This is a significant achievement for Shannon Recycling Centre, which only opened for business in July 2007.

Minister Killeen Welcomes Agreement On A 33% Increase In Mackerel Catch For 2009
