Music and Film Collection for Shannon Library

Mayors And Chairs Of 11 Local Authorities To Meet Over Shannon Airport To Heathrow Flights

The Mayors and Chairpersons of 11 Local Authorities in the West of will attend a meeting in the Oakwood Arms Hotel, Shannon, County Clare at 4pm on Thursday 30th August 2007. The aim of the meeting will be to discuss the recent announcement by Aer Lingus to cease operating flights between Shannon Airport and London-Heathrow. Mayor of Clare Cllr. Patricia McCarthy will host the meeting. Members of the media are invited to attend the event. Photograph and interview opportunities will be provided.

Virtual Tours Of Selected Historical And Archaeological Sites In County Clare

, 27th Aug 07 – Clare Museum is set to become the first local authority museum in the country to develop Virtual Tours of selected historical and archaeological sites. The Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism this week allocated EUR10k to the Museum, under a new pilot scheme to assist local and regional museums.

“Should the haemoraging of manufacturing jobs continue at its current pace I fear that the foundation for development in the County and wider region will be fatally undermined” - Mayor of Clare Patricia McCarthy.
